Alex Laidler
Health Visitor
My name is Alex Laidler, I am a trustee for Jolly Josh. I was Josh’s Health Visitor and was honoured to be asked to be a trustee for the charity. Josh has a special place in my heart along with his beautiful family. My background is as a Children’s Nurse working in Neurosurgery and then as a Staff Nurse within the health visiting teams in various team in the Manchester area, 13 years ago I decided to do my health visitor training and have never looked back.
Becky Drury
Teacher of children with PMLD
Hi I’m Becky and was absolutely delighted to be asked by Carole to become a Trustee for Jolly Josh. I’d followed Jolly Josh with interest and then was lucky enough to not only meet Carole, but share a class with her! Carole inspires me everyday with her passion and commitment to raising the bar for children and families of children with complex medical needs and profound and multiple learning difficulties in and around our home town of Rochdale.
Jane Houghton
Paediatric Nurse
I am Jane Houghton and I am honoured to be invited to be a Trustee for Jolly Josh.. I am a registered Children’s Nurse, General Nurse and District Nurse, having initially trained at Booth Hall Children’s Hospital and North Manchester General Hospital. After qualifying I worked on the Burns unit there, then was a Children’s Community Nurse, in North Manchester, a Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialist in Bradford and finally a Paediatric Nurse Consultant in Children’s Ambulatory Care in Preston before leaving the NHS in 2008 to work, until 2018, for Together for Short Lives, the UK wide charity that supports all professionals working in Children’s Palliative Care and the Children’s Hospices.
Anna Oddy
Specialist Complex Needs Nurse / Palliative Nurse
My name is Anna Oddy (RN (Child) BSc (Hons) Children’s nursing). I undertook the children’s nurse training at the University of Central Lancashire from 1998- 2001. Once qualifying I worked at Booth Hall Children’s Hospital on ward 14. Following this I moved to Pendlebury Children’s Hospital and worked on the Bone Marrow transplant unit.
