Wow, what an afternoon! Thank you so much to everyone who came to join us to make the @JollyJosh #stayandplay session so wonderful! #Rochdale #Charity
Today is #WorldDownSyndromeDay 2018, the date was chosen by campaigners as it relates to the three copies of the 21st chromosome = 21.3.18
Our special guest, 12 year old Armarni visited us (accompanied by Deborah, representative from @MatthewMossHighSchool to present a speech about her brother Aidan (who has Down Syndrome) and her family's journey. #NothingDownAboutHim It was an incredibly moving speech, Armarni is so courageous for someone so young, as very proud moment for us all, especially her parents.
Mismatched socks are chosen to raise awareness of #DownSyndrome by campaigners. We designed three socks to represent the three copies of the #21stchromosome.
Some of our families wore supportive t-shirts and '#rockedtheirsocks.' Jannah, Aidan's Mummy organised a special cake too!
We had a fabulous afternoon celebrating and we're hoping to help to raise awareness of Down Syndrome.
Our theme was 'Pirates', we had lots of fun as you can see...
