The Soup Kitchen Provides Support For Jolly Josh Families During Lockdown

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

Marylin, one of the founders of @TheSoupKitchen, #Rochdale alongside Vida Slater, and I first met at the @SpringhillHospice #RochdaleWomanOfTheYear award ceremony. Marylin was Rochdale Woman of the Year 2018 and passed on the award to me as 2019's winner (it's still all very surreal).

Perhaps our paths crossed for more than one reason that day? The Soup Kitchen have received generous donations during #lockdown due to the #Covid19 #Coronavirus #Pandemic (if you are willing to donate please contact them directly). Marks and Spencer donated a huge £40K worth of food to the group.

Our #JollyJosh families are in #isolation as their children are #vulnerable #highrisk and so we have been working busily to find ways to support them. We are trilled to announce that The Soup Kitchen have kindly agreed to provide this support. They will be making regular deliveries of essential food parcels which are very much appreciated by our families. It will bring huge relief to them knowing that they can #shield their loved ones and #stayathome and #staysafe.

Our families can chose to make a donation to The Soup Kitchen but this is NOT essential. Jolly Josh have applied for an emergency fund, should this be successful we will use this to cost the project.

Thank You to Marylin and Vida at The Soup Kitchen, those who enable the group to function and of course those who donate.

Alone we can do little, together we can do so much! #Charity #CharityCollaboration
